Graphic Designer / Digital Designer

Working with various members of the creative team (Art Directors, Designers, Copywriters, UX, Developers), this role is directly involved in preparation and production of graphic materials for brand-building and digital marketing campaigns. In this role you will be required produce final design work to fulfill the various media formats required primarily for social and digital platforms. Designs need to be executed to specifications and within brand design standards. This role requires a solid design sense with strong production skills with the Adobe Creative Suite, the ability to take direction and meet deadlines. 

Responsibilities

  • Build final digital files to specifications for production across a variety of media, including digital, social, print, and video
  • Demonstrate excellence in colour knowledge, selection, and application
  • Apply principles of design including layout, typography, photography composition, and usability wherever appropriate
  • Have a thorough comprehension of timelines and exhibit flawless project execution – from initiation to post-delivery
  • Most importantly, you pride yourself in delivering well built, organized, and error-free final files for print and digital applications
  • Identifies overall process improvement
  • Understands the importance of timelines and strives to complete work on time
  • Pro-actively evolve digital skillset using online learning tools at company’s disposal or by farming knowledge from senior team members

Required Skills

  • Have an excellent understanding of web and digital production
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, InDesign)  is mandatory
  • Demonstrate excellence in colour knowledge, selection, and application
  • Have a keen eye for revisions and consistency, and complete design elements based on existing creative templates
  • You build final digital files to specifications and enjoy making typographical corrections as needed
  • Ensure all items are checked for accuracy to specifications
  • Have a thorough comprehension of timelines and exhibit flawless project execution – from initiation to post-delivery
  • Most importantly, you pride yourself in delivering well built, organized, and error-free final files for print and digital applications
  • Have at least 2 years total experience freelance and permanent positions, ideally some time spent working closely with creative agencies
  • Awareness and interest in current and emerging design and technology trends
  • Familiarity with UX best practices and Web Accessibility standards
  • Knowledge of basic motion design skills, with a willingness to learn.
  • HTML and WordPress experience is an asset
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
