The Challenge
The Newfoundland Chocolate Company (NCC) had always relied on in-store traffic to fuel growth. But when the pandemic limited in-person shopping, they needed to rapidly evolve their business model. While online sales spiked during Easter and Mother’s Day, momentum slowed in the summer months. With long-term growth at stake—and challenges such as shipping delays, travel restrictions, and fewer opportunities for in-person browsing—NCC needed a strategy that would drive consistent online sales and keep customers engaged year-round.
Strategy
Strategy
Our objective was clear: shift consumer behaviour toward earlier and more frequent online purchasing. We designed a highly targeted digital media strategy that reached both local and expat audiences across Canada. Messaging highlighted Newfoundland Chocolate Company products as thoughtful gifts and everyday indulgences—positioning NCC as a way to share meaningful moments with loved ones, no matter where they were.
Execution
Execution
We built a multi-channel campaign that blended urgency with storytelling. Digital ads and social content showcased NCC as both the perfect gift and an everyday treat, encouraging customers to shop online sooner and more often. Focused targeting ensured both local audiences and expats across the country connected emotionally with the brand while reducing barriers such as shipping delays.

The campaign exceeded expectations, transforming online sales into a major driver of growth. By shifting buying habits and strengthening digital visibility, NCC not only closed the year on a high note but also built a stronger foundation for e-commerce long-term.
